Paranoid War Culture

Startup is a war against incumbents. You either disrupt the market and kill the old farts, or you die trying. Most people never understand what a startup actually is. That’s why they don’t build startups. They build side hobbies that will never scale.

Jurin AI is a Spartan culture, an extreme war culture forged from YC and PayPal Mafia DNA, influenced by secretive outliers like Rentech and early EPIC. Tiny, paranoid, and obsessed about our conviction. We treat intel like spy craft, every move like a coup de grâce. We’re 300 Spartans: small, but every single one strong enough to run circles around armies 100x our size.

Why small and elite? Because speed is startup's only weapon. Incumbents have money, lawyers, distribution. We have momentum. Not 10% YoY, but 1000% YoY. Speed exposes truth fast. What if the next Google only had 75 people?

Jurin AI's core HR theory is the “headcount walls”. Hierarchy is flat when <25, but first management structure must come in at 25 people. Next walls at 75, 300, 1,000, and so on.

Companies are becoming more efficient. IBM used to be 500k, then came Google with 100ks, then 10k, then 1k. The legendary outliers hover around ~300 people, beating companies 100x their size.

But why 300? Why not $B profit with <75 people?

In AI agent era, this might finally be possible. Telegram is the closest we've seen: tiny headcount, rockstars only, amplified by AI agents.

Instead of 10–100 marketers, one CMO commands 10k AI agents. Reality: big teams just execute the vision of 1–2 impact providers anyway. Every Jurin AI member is a future executive or founder, trained to scale their power with AI teammates. Independent, high-impact, and ambitious enough to ride the AI rocket ship.

Crazy Interview Process

Jurin AI hiring interviews are 10 minutes. We know if someone’s good in the first 5 minutes; the next 5 minutes are just being polite.

Recruiters are shocked. Candidates are shocked. Everyone and their grandma are shocked.

The only advantage a startup has in closing A-players is speed. Copying big-company hiring processes is a losing game.

Of course, Jurin AI doesn't randomly hire people. We follow strict rules with a 100% success rate at identifying A-players.

Rule #1: The interviewer are a domain expert.

If you have new grads interviewing new grads, you can’t fully trust their judgment. But if a programming god interviews a programmer, they know in seconds if someone’s good.

Countless times, we've seen resumes claiming “fluent in English,” yet one simple question proves otherwise. Same with non-Japanese claiming they know Japanese, one question and we know if they’re bluffing.

Big companies do endless interview rounds because they’re full of lazy people cruising around, clueless about what they’re doing. They try to reduce false positives—but it doesn’t work. B-players hire C-players, C-players hire D-players, and downhill it goes.

Rule #2: Test the technicals.

→ For software engineers, we require you solving Leetcode problems.

Everyone complains about Leetcode, but it’s damn effective. Hate it all you want, but if you can’t solve them, you’re not good enough. “I can vibe-code with AI”? Sure, Dunning-Kruger. You’ll destroy orgs, stay away from us.

→ Sales? You will have to draft outbound emails, respond to inbound leads, and do a live demo.

→ Marketing? Write ad copy on the spot.

→ Designers? Design something right away.

We have strong interviewers who are experts in the domain, we spot bullshitters immediately.

It’s true that ideas are cheap and execution is everything, but building in public also hands competitors your playbook. At Jurin AI, stealth worked. We shrank typical 6–24 month Japanese enterprise sales cycles into <4 weeks (unheard of in Japan). Because we chose to tackle a brutal problem and built a unique product that’s difficult to reproduce, we had no viable competitors. Enterprise customers didn’t need to do competitors comparison and that significantly accelerated sales. Today we power 1/3 of Japan’s top 100 enterprises; the 2/3 rest are in the pipeline.
